no, this isn't about Linux

Great article in yesterday's Guardian on the subject of design. Alice Rawsthorn compares the design revolution brought about by the Penguin paperbacks covers in the '60s and early 70's to the ability to download album artwork onto the iPod with tracks. She believes that the next stage of downloads will be animations designed to enhance the musical experience rather than static cover shots.

Very interesting read, and a spooky coincidence as a I read it after posting my earlier thoughts on videos as advertising.
